Adding a mid pto to 91 JD 670

I have a '91 JD 670 with out the mid pto. Looking at the parts book and my IT manual it looks like I could buy the piece parts and just bolt the mid pto gear box and linkage in place. Could it be that simple??? It doesn't look like there is any difference to the internals of the transmission, so was this just an "add on" option? Thanks for the help. SteveB
